Yale University Glee Club Sings With Ojala Niños!

By Elsmarie Norby

The Yale University Glee Club is making a rare appearance in San Miguel de Allende to sing with Ojala Niños on March 15.

A choral group of 81 voices that perform to great acclaim wherever they go, the Yale Glee club will show up in the rural community of San Miguel Viejo around 3 pm, where they will meet up with the children, staff, and parents of Ojala Niños. Everyone will then make their way to the historic chapel, where the choir will give an informal concert and sing with the children, making a joyful noise!

You are invited to this magical moment in the campo. Since we don’t have an exact time schedule, we suggest you come between 2 and 3pm. Cars can drive to the chapel. Hikers can walk from the Bodega Aurrera.

Directions: go to the rail station, cross the tracks, and go straight across onto a cobblestone road. About half a mile from there is a left fork, which is the road that leads into the rancho. Follow the blue and white balloons and ribbons.

Yale alumni are invited to come at 2pm to greet the choir.

Your donations are welcome to help fund a new music program for Ojala Niños, a year-round free daily alternative education program for all ages of children in this community. We also welcome you to volunteer.
