Bazaar Brings Mexican Design Back to Town

By Jade Arroyo

The fever for fast fashion (made without ethics) is teaching young people that fashion has no value. Consequently, fashion and design culture is threatened.
This moment is an opportunity to invent new ideas and focus on the future with new perspectives. The most important thing is that people believe in the magic of fashion again. They know that consumption is slowed by supporting independent designers and artisans, and that the obsession with any trend disappears. Over four years, the Alternative Design Bazaar has been faithful to this philosophy, showing the work of more than 200 brands, representing the emerging design in the country in a variety of products: fashion, footwear, furniture, lighting, weaving, author jewelry, art-object, photography, illustration, painting, textile art, and binding. Designers come from San Miguel, México City, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Veracruz, León, Guanajuato, Querétaro, and more.

The bazaar takes place this February 24 and 25, offering great opportunities to meet new proposals with very fair and affordable prices and high quality.

The Bazaar seeks to promote fair trade, sustainability, and social responsibility and to give a forum to independent Mexican artists. Artists and the public are invited to join the consumer movement of national fashion and design, or any creative project with an innovative design proposal. Create a forum for contemporary artistic expressions and contribute to the creation of new audiences and conscious consumers.

Thanks go to the artist Aldo Jarillo, who created the illustration for the poster. You can follow the bazaar on social networks, Facebook, and Instagram as @ bazar.diseno.alternativo

Dare to look different and be brave to live in your truth!
