Alexander Pashkov and Alicia Rappoport Benefit Concert

By Bonnie Baker

San Miguel will welcome back two acclaimed musicians, Russian-born pianist Alexander Pashkov and Argentine soprano Alicia Rappoport, for two benefit concerts for the General Anthroposophical Society. The fundraising events will be held over two days at St Paul’s Church on February 10 at 4pm. The multitalented Pashkov is a beloved regular of San Miguel’s Pro Musica concert series and has had a prestigious and award-winning international career. ( Alicia Rappoport, a native of Buenos Aires, is a celebrated world-class singer who resides in San Miguel and travels internationally, delighting audiences with her dramatic, transcendent interpretations. (

Pashkov and Rappoport will team up again in San Miguel as a celebration of St Valentine’s Day, cultivating a cultural impulse for humanity with a repertoire of international classics honoring friendship.

Anthroposophy is a human-oriented spiritual path of knowledge that reflects the basic deep spiritual questions of humanity. It appeals to our basic artistic needs, to the need to relate to the world out of a scientific attitude of mind, and to the need to develop a relation to the world in complete freedom and based on completely individual judgment and decisions.

The Anthroposophical Society was founded in order to be “an association of people whose will it is to nurture the life of the soul, both in the individual and in human society, on the basis of a true knowledge of the spiritual world.” The Society is public, without political agenda or religious affiliation, without regard to ethnic or national origin, social standing, religion, scientific or artistic conviction. Its activity is seen today in independent national societies and initiatives throughout the world, with members from all cultures and continents. The aim of the society is to make a spiritually based contribution to the life of humanity in the world of today and tomorrow.

There is a branch of the General Anthroposophical Society in San Miguel de Allende open since 2016. We invite you to enjoy this magnificent gala and contribute to enriching this cultural initiative.

The General Anthroposophical Society, a cultural impulse for the world.
