It brings revenue and generates employment at the same time. But there are many people who visit and believe that they can do whatever they want, and the authorities do not do anything.

María Magdalena Luna, 38 years old

All the good things suddenly turn into bad because they come and spend their money, but also they come just to get drunk. They bring money, but they need to take care of the city.

Sergio Huerta, 50 years old

The visitors spend their money in hotels, restaurants, and other stores; only they get the benefit. All those involved in other businesses, like me, do not get anything.

Isela Arteaga, 41 years old

We need their money, and they bring it, but with this number of tourists, the stores charge general prices, very expensive for Sanmiguelenses. We should have a discount for being locals.

Casila González, 55 years old

Their money creates jobs. Unfortunately, they come just to drink. San Miguel is a city with culture, but it gets lost if there is only alcohol.

Josefina Morales, 46 years old

I see nothing wrong or bad with tourists. On the contrary, everything is positive: there is money and employment, so we have a living city.

Jorge González, 64 years old

Tourists are good for the city because they visit and make the city more famous. The bad news is that with such popularity, the historic center is packed, and there is traffic. San Miguel is not made for big crowds.

Laura Zúñiga, 34 years old

Yes, they may bring a lot of money, and San Miguel has grown. Thanks to that, because we can see the difference. But we have no room for more people. The hotels are always full, there are no public washrooms, and the vehicle mobility is very slow. San Miguel cannot provide services for many people.

Elhiú Jiménez, 22 years old

Tourists are good because they bring revenue to the city, and that makes us an intercultural city and enrichens our culture. There is an international impact. The bad things are the uncontrolled growth of the city as well as the lack of control in the prices. It is an expensive city for locals.

Daniel Sierra, 26 years old

It is good to have this economic situation. It increases the incomes of the locals. The culture is enriched with other beliefs and customs. The bad thing is that due to the large numbers of people, the infrastructure is damaged and there is more trash. There is no more space in San Miguel for more people. The services are not enough. It is more expensive, and there are not [enough] public washrooms.
