This week, come enjoy master storyteller and singer-songwriter Bernice Lewis, whom Rosanne Cash calls “one of the keepers of the flame of real songwriting.” A staple on the national folk circuit, Bernice has shared the stage with Patty Griffin, Pete Seeger, Odetta, and the Dixie Chicks. Texas Troubadour Bernice Lewis is live and in concert Wednesday, December 6, at 7pm and Thursday, December 7, at 7pm. If you like Mary Chapin Carpenter, Joni Mitchell, and Dar Williams, this is one Shelter show you will not want to miss! Scott Alarik, of The Boston Globe says, “It is impossible not to have a good time listening to Lewis sing.” Tickets are available at the Biblioteca and online at www.sheltervg4.com.

Pulitzer Prize-winner Robert Schenkkan’s new political play, Building the Wall returns November 29 to Sunday, December 3 after its sold-out run, and tickets are already selling fast. The powerful commentary imagines a future when Trump’s America may deport millions of peaceful residents, with “the wall” as a metaphor for a crackdown of illegal immigrants and what it does to people and the very fabric of a country, especially Mexico. San Miguel trendsetter Susan Page raves, “I was captivated by the play. Extraordinary! Superb acting and directing, not to mention great writing, with a totally gut-wrenching final line.” The play stars Cynthia Simmons and David Galitzky and runs exclusively at Shelter Theater. Buy tickets at the Biblioteca or online at sheltervg4.com.

Friday, December 8, at 7pm will be Blues Masters Tom Driscoll and Dave Bingham. Tom and Dave have been performing in San Miguel since their inspired jam in 2014. They have been in the music business for over 45 years, opening for acts like the Rolling Stones, the Animals, and the Beach Boys. Shelter is honored to have them onstage this week. Tickets are available at the Biblioteca and online at sheltervg4.com.
