San Miguel de Allende is known as the Heart of Mexico. It is the city that attracts people, makes them fall in love, and easily seeks and gains a space in the minds of those who fall to seduction.

Uriel Santana is a photographer from Jalisco, whose heart is marked by the cobblestoned streets of this magic town, by its architecture, colors, and flavors that create up happy and unforgettable memories.

Based on his delight in this city, the project Latidos de mi tierra (Beatings of My Land) emerged. In this idea, Santana—graphic designer, art director, painter, and photographer—decided to return to the city that captivated his heart. With nationally–known talent and his lens, he captured the beauty of San Miguel, photographing actresses, actors, singers and models, like Monserrat Olivier, Carlos Rivera, Galilea Montijo, Bárbara Mori, Stephanie Sigman, Gonzalo García Vivanco, and Diego Amozurrutia.

The shoot of Latidos de mi tierra took place from Jul 4–30 this year, and it shows large format portraits depicting public and private spaces that go from the Jardín Principal to churches, houses, and nearby vineyards.

The exhibition, Santana told Atención, “is a tribute to the places where we have loved, laughed, and been free.”

After San Miguel, the collection will travel through San Miguel’s Sister Cities.
