October Plein Air Oil Painting Workshop

By Jonathon Williams

Why do students make successful paintings in Jonathon Williams’ workshops? Maybe it’s because they have lots of fun. Maybe it’s because they get a pochade box, panels, paints, brushes, brush washer and brush holder, Liquin, mineral spirits, viewfinder, color wheel—all materials are supplied for the workshop. Maybe it’s because everyone gets personal attention from orientation, to learning to see the shapes and colors of San Miguel de Allende, to instruction in the fundamentals of painting (composition, values, mixing and color harmony). Or maybe it’s because by the end of the workshop they have four paintings in oil to take home. October’s workshop was once again a pleasant, joyful, and great experience for Jonathon and his students.

One student said, “After these three full days, I feel that I have a specific direction for my painting, edges, and color.” Another said, “I have much work to do but the workshop gave me the confidence to continue. I look forward to taking more lessons from Jonathon.”

Join us and have an interesting and memorable experience. If you are a beginner or intermediate painter, there is always something to learn from a well-experienced teacher who has been traveling the world painting for more than 25 years, and who has an excellent background in drawing and painting. In addition, you will discover San Miguel de Allende in a very unique way—from the eyes of an artist. Look at the videos on Jonathon’s website
