Four Years of Mexican Design

By Jade Arroyo

Celebrating its fourth anniversary, the bazaar is considered the best platform in San Miguel de Allende for the dissemination of Made in Mexico products and support for young entrepreneurs. The weekend November 4 and 5 continues to be steeped in the magic and the mystique of Day of the Dead. Come to celebrate with us!

We thank the artist Lorenzo Lorenzzo, creator of our poster and the cartonero, Marco Bautista, for the mojigangas (giant puppets) that guard our entrance.

Visit the bazaar, consume consciously, and help to support the local economy and the talented Mexican designers. The handmade, ethical items are usually high quality products. They are unique pieces that you can collect. They do not follow fast fashion trends. Enjoying local designs can create community and embrace creativity.

We invite you to visit us and get to know the new ideas in fashion, embroidery, designer jewelry, accessories, toys, footwear, interior design, furniture, lighting, artwork, engraving, illustration, ceramics, candles, dolls, lenses, bags, bindings, rugs, personal care, gourmet and organic products, and much more. The bazaar is free to enter, pet friendly, and fun for the whole family.

The Alternative Design Bazaar is the first event in the city specifically aimed at spreading the word about independent Mexican design and promoting the fair purchase of handmade, national products. The purpose of the bazaar is to be a platform to empower emerging entrepreneurs and independent designers, while raising consumer awareness of the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs and creative artisans by purchasing their products. The format of the bazaar is that of a traveling market, formed exclusively by designers who produce handmade pieces in Mexico.
