Luis Agüero, affectionately known as Luisito, is from Havana and came to Mexico 25 years ago. He is a seasoned performer whose cantagious energy captivates, and whose extraordinary Cuban voice delights both regular fans and first-time listeners.

Invited to SMA to perform with Remy Fenoy´s Saoco group, Luisito fell in love with the pueblo because its residents appreciate good music and are generous with their applause.

A graduate in voice from the Ignacio Cervantes de la Habana music school, he came to Mexico with the Tropicana de Cuba show´s Conjunto Casino. Luisito has worked with top Cuban orchestras, such as the unforgettable Celia Cruz, La Sonora Veracruz, and the Orquesta de Celio Gonzalez. His voice has taken him far and wide, but it is in Mexico City that he has spent the most time, singing in the city´s top Cuban music and dance venues and restaurants, such as Salon de los Angeles, Salon Q, and La Maraka.

Luisito´s broad professional experience and pleasure at interacting with audiences have motivated him to organize a live musical event with seasoned musicians in a proper dance venue where listeners and dancers will have a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Traditionally, a dance venue has an inviting atmosphere where friends can meet up, new friendships can form—and where you might even find love! This ambience is accompanied by great music, a good sound and lighting system, and quality food and drinks at affordable prices.

Luisito is grateful to Christie and Adrian of Arthur Murray Dance Center of San Miguel de Allende for supporting this musical event, which sets out to accomplish the challenge of getting everyone who wants to dancing!

In love with the music of his country, Luisito has set a musical agenda of Cuban dance rhythms: Son, Salsa, Danzon, Guaracha, Chachacha, and Bolero. Under his direction, the group is looking forward to using their professional skills to interpret these musical genres.

Cuban musicians Yamil Vazquez (piano) and Sadith Pena (flute and saxophone), and their Mexican colleagues Aaron Romo (bass), Julian Mendieta (percussion) and Raul Franco (percussion) will interpret the songs.

Do you accept Luisito´s challenge to come and listen, dance, and groove to this fine music?

The event is on Friday 10 November from 8-11pm at Arthur Murray Restaurant and Dance Club, at Salida a Celaya 59. The cover charge is 150 pesos per person, and includes a complimentary Mojito.
