Jonathon Williams’s Three-day Plein Air Oil Painting Workshop Returns October 18‒20

The last workshop in August was sold out, a great, successful experience. Jonathon has traveled, painted, and taught for over 25 year, and in his words, “San Miguel de Allende offers wonderful views, colorful scenes, and the kind of colonial Mexican town you can enjoy by walking through its charming streets.” His background as an artist pushes him to be serious about teaching the fundamentals. As he explains, “Composition, drawing, values, and color harmony are very important. Once you get them right, you will be ready to go on your own journey.” Students understand and learn while they are painting!

Jonathon also knows the cost of materials to get started, so for these three days, everything one needs is provided. A beautiful, handmade pochade box that fits on a tripod, paints, brushes, a brush holder, a brush washer, medium, and panels, plus a Oaxaca shoulder bag with a sketchbook, pen, viewer, color wheel, and more. Students just show up and paint … correctly.

This class is size-limited, so you have the guarantee that the teacher will be around you to help, correct, and give you advice where necessary, and you will have the opportunity to observe one of his “quick demos” live.

Sign up at, and click on the “Lessons” tab, or contact him at, and “let’s go painting!”
