Paul Carter

Retirement Mentor Paul Carter of GoRefire.com is offering three free events for retirees who want more meaning and purpose than the stereotypical retirement of our mainstream culture.

The first event is the Sunday, September 3, 3–5pm meeting of the regular monthly small group discussion of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Using the wisdom circle method, Carter will lead a discussion on the question: “What do we mean by retirement in today’s world, when we expect to live meaningfully into our 80s and beyond?

RSVP to Ellie Goodwin at epgoodwin@hotmail.com.

The second event is the Saturday, September 23 LifePath workshop entitled “Upgrade Your Retirement.” This program is designed to help retirees who worry that they do not have enough money to make it work or were euphoric during the first few months of retirement, but slowly they started to feel lost and began searching for a new way to engage with life.

Carter will lead the group in the practice of his 5 Step Toolkit to Defuse Anxiety and Increase Joy in Retirement.

The third event is the September 26 preview of Carter’s 6 session online program, “The reFirement Map: How to Navigate the 5 Most Common Challenges to Find Meaning, Purpose, and Joy in Retirement.”

While everyone is unique in how they approach retirement, there are some common challenges that one can expect. And if one is prepared, these challenges can be navigated with more ease and grace than if one is unprepared In the preview session, Carter will serve up a deep dish presentation of the first challenge, which is how people either answer, or refuse the call to a more meaningful, purposeful, and joyous retirement than the one that is typically expected in mainstream culture. During all three events, attendees will be offered discounts for Carter’s six session online program, “The reFirement Map: How to Navigate the 5 Most Common Challenges to Find Meaning, Purpose, and Joy in Retirement,” which starts in October.

About Paul Carter

Carter started his career as an ordained American Baptist Minister in the US. He eventually realized that his true calling was mentoring people to take their retirement to a new level in spirit (not necessarily religious). He calls this new level of retirement reFirement.

His interest in engineering from a very young age taught him the paradox that structure brings freedom. So he created “The reFirement Map” a practical guide to uplevel one’s retirement. He now shares this with clients and teaches it online.
