Biblioteca Thrift Shop Needs Your Donations!

By Jan Davis

We are in the process of remodeling the Biblioteca’s thrift shop, also known as the Bodega de Sorpresas. We’ve donated the old merchandise to the various communities around San Miguel planning for a grand-reopening in late August or early September.

But we need your help! Look around your home, box up those items you no longer want or need, and donate them to the Bodega! We’ll even come by and pick them up.

We accept gently used men and women’s clothing, housewares, children’s clothes, dishes, paintings— most anything, provided it is in good condition. We can also provide a receipt for tax deduction purposes to U.S. citizens.

Drop off your goods at the Biblioteca reception desk at Insurgentes 25, Centro

or call 415 152 0293 for a pickup.

And remember: 100 percent of sales from the Bodega go to the Biblioteca’s scholarship fund for low-income students who live in rural communities and the city—from high school to college level.
