One hundred years ago the Rotary Foundation was born as a charity to give a helping hand to people in need all over the world through various service projects. Today, those projects are carried out in communities like ours internationally with the goal of assisting people to become self-sufficient. Come to Rotary Tuesday, August 22, at 12:30pm when former Rotary president Tony Ronci will share how more than US$1 million has been invested locally and US$3 billion has been invested internationally toward these noble ends. The meeting will be at Hotel Misión, Salida a Querétaro 1, free and in English.

Locally, Rotary service projects have led access to information, cultural enrichment, housing, health, water resource development, education, child development, emergency services, environmental betterment, and peace initiatives.

Ronci is a long-time Rotarian who lived and practiced law in the western New York area before moving to San Miguel seven years ago.

Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. For more information, contact the organization’s president, Fred Collins, at presidentmidday@berkleyline.com and see RotarySMAMidday.org.
