Danzón: We’re Fine with Nine!

By Leonardo Rosen

Finally, “El Danzón y Otros Ritmos Bailables con el Club de Danzón” in the Jardín Principal of San Miguel de Allende celebrates its ninth anniversary. We hope you will celebrate with us. As many of you know, we play the best of danzón and other Latin music for your dancing pleasure. We believe that music and dance transcend language barriers. Please dance or watch, as you prefer. We feel that these events encourage togetherness between Mexicans and foreigners in this city. We do not want a wall at the border, and we do not want one here, either. Everyone is welcome!

The Ninth Anniversary Celebration of “El Danzón y Otros Ritmos Bailables con el Club de Danzón” takes place on Sunday, August 13, 2017, 6–9pm, admission free, in the Jardín Principal of San Miguel. From 6–7pm, we will play recorded dance music. From 7–9pm, we will have live music played by the highly respected Orquesta Marimba Tono 13, which has played at all of our events. There will be the whole gamut of Latin dance music and even some good old rock & roll. For more information, you can call 121 4319 (Cultura y Tradiciones) or 154 5840 (Leonardo Rosen). We thank the Department of Cultura y Tradiciones of San Miguel de Allende for its approval and technical support of this event.

We deeply appreciate your support for the last nine years. You have always been the stars of this show. “¡Rico y Sabroso!”
