Get Out and Enjoy Life at the Bazar of Alternative Design

By Jade Arroyo

The Bazar de Diseño Alternativo (Bazaar of Alternative Design), now in its 22nd edition, is a pioneer among all the craft and design markets in San Miguel de Allende. Created in 2013, it has become a showcase for Mexican designers and artists to present their projects and initiatives.

Bazar de Diseño Alternativo
Sat and Sun, Jul 22 and 23, 10 am–6pm
Centro Cultural Allende
Ancha de San Antonio 30
Free admission

With more than 50 participants, exhibitors display many different types of art for all ages, such as illustrations, clothing, textile art, stickers, notebooks, shoes, bags, and jewelry. The best part is that all of it is made in Mexico.

The exhibitors invite you to join us this weekend and have a human experience. Forget the big stores that turn us into clones and come out and find out about independent artists and see their creative processes and craftsmanship.

The Bazaar of Alternative Design is a self-managed and independent organization. Our mission is to promote and sing the praises of the work of emerging Mexican designers.

Our goal is to promote fair trade, sustainability, and social responsibility. We provide a forum for Mexican independent artists. We invite artists and the public to join us in our movement for the marketing of national design of fashion and innovative projects.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with such talented artists. The Mexican illustrator, Taquito Jocoque, is producing our publicity posters.

Free entry. Pet friendly. Music. Culinary art.
