We Got Nothin’!

The Improv People are at it again! Jumping off a cliff without a net, except for each other. Gulp! For the first show of our sixth season of improvised theatre in San Miguel, we are pleased to present We Got Nothin’!

We Got Nothin’!
Sat, Jul 8, 7pm
Teatro Santa Ana, La Biblioteca
Reloj 50A
200 pesos

As our beloved audiences have come to know, this show will be unlike any other we have performed. We usually use a prompt from the audience to inspire the improvised play. This time, however, you—the audience—will be asked not only to offer prompts before we begin, but also during the show which, in essence, will give you the power to guide the direction of the story, offer lines of dialogue and several cues throughout, as our characters, relationships, and conflicts organically emerge and are affected by those suggestions.

When we walk out on stage we’ll begin with nothing. Literally. Hence, the title of the show!

We will double the fun during the second act where an entirely new play will unfold utilizing many of the identical prompts as the first act. We’ll discover how every choice made on stage by the players creates an entirely different possibility for story, relationships, and conflicts. Fun? You bet!

After the show, we invite audience members to remain for a few minutes for a tantalizing TalkBack Session, to welcome your questions and comments with the adventurous cast which includes Anne Campbell, Kate Rowland, Barbara Ziff, Chris Kapilla, Eli Hans, and Joseph Bennett. Julieta Moreno joins us with lights and sound.

As an added bonus, a special Improv Workshop will accompany the performance one week earlier on Sunday, July 2. This “all levels” workshop will be held at the Jewish Cultural and Community Center (JC3) and will be taught by The Improv People’s founding co-directors, Joseph Bennett and Eli Hans. This two-hour workshop will help you reconnect with your playful self and learn a few tricks of the trade you can later observe on stage during the show. Pre-registration is required, and space is quite limited. So if you’d like to join us for this fun and engaging afternoon, please visit for all the details and to register.

We are very grateful that nearly all of our shows in the past have sold out. We encourage you to buy tickets early at, directly from any cast member, or at the box office of Teatro Santa Ana. Thank you all!
