A kidnapped expatriate woman who disappeared on March 13 from colonia Guadalupe was rescued by local and state police forces. One man is under arrest, while others also responsible for her abduction have been identified and will be detained in the days to come after arrest warrants are issued.

Social networks announced that the woman was kidnapped, but the National System of Public Safety did not confirm this until a month later.

Information submitted to Atención San Miguel suggested that the woman was born in France and later became an American Citizen by marriage. State Attorney General Carlos Zamarripa Aguirre visited the city and confirmed in a press conference that the woman had dual nationality. During his visit on Thursday, June 1, he declared that the expat was rescued on Tuesday, May 30 (he did not say where), with just one injury to a finger. Attorney General Zamarripa confirmed that a man was arrested for the crime and other implicated persons were identified. The arrested man, according to the information provided, was not from San Miguel but lived here. Zamarripa noted that a ransom was not paid.

The identified accomplices have participated in other kidnappings. Finally, Attorney General Zamarripa said that through a video, authorities also learned that an unidentified man participated in the kidnapping, and they could tell from his accent that he is from the United States of America. In the next hours his identikit picture will be released.
