Until April 24, residents and visitors in San Miguel de Allende can view the Oaxaca exhibition at Casa de Europa, located on calle San Francisco, across from the San Francisco church. At this exhibition attendees will learn about the magnificent historical native legacy and can buy unusual items. It will be a unique opportunity to personally get to know traditional cooks who will offer diverse surprises from their indigenous kitchens, such as el mole, a stew prepared for all family festivities and in commemoration of religious events. In addition, the cooks will present complementary snacks made from chapulines (grasshoppers), and chocolate, pleasing to the gourmet palate of anyone who appreciates the natural and authentic as an exceptional and wonderful experience from Oaxaca.
The magnificent hands of Oaxaca will gift us with the color and creativity of their cultural richness through tastings of mezcal, fruit liqueurs, and chapulines gastronomy, and displays of unique pieces of ceramic, basketry, leather, wood, and other materials that highlight the creative beauty of their native culture. Visitors can learn of the historical legacy, the authenticity of Oaxaca traditions, and the integrity of its eight regions: Cañada, Costa, Istmo, Cuenca of Papaloapan, Sierra Sur, Sierra Norte, Valles centrales y Mixteca culture.
