Art and Music at Inside Café
By Jade Arroyo
On April 7, the second edition of “Art & Music” was held at Inside Café. This event was organized by the Fundación-Colección EPPCI A.C., which seeks to promote the work of local musicians and artists, as well as that of foreigners residing in our city.
The exhibition was organized by Insular Museum in collaboration with GPNC, a community of contemporary artists, born in 2015 and inaugurated mainly by young artists from the Bajío, such as Alessandro Bo, Assaf Farfán, Angel Beltrán, Antonio Chaurand Pichardo, Carolina Berrocal, Cosa Rapozo, David F. Barajas R., Danilo Filtrof, Enrique López Llamas, Hugo Alegría, Marcia Santos, and Mario Acosta. Some of them are already recognized for their work at the national level.
Originally from Jacksboro, TX, the Hope All Theories Exist band opened the event with a jazz session. Following this, guests listened to a lecture, “The Critique of Visual Arts.” The evening ended with Leonardo Díaz, also a local artist and DJ, who enlivened the night with music from the ’80s. Inside Café is located on Insurgentes 66.
GPNC/Exhibition in Insular Museum:
With seven months of work in the experimental community of Mexican artists GPNC, members ask the question: What is a museum? We certainly say: The answer to the question is complex; it is unstable; it is multiple. The work of the Insular Museum from San Miguel de Allende, offered a space of shock: seven artists installed a series of objects, seven projects, for display and documentation within the small office of the museum.
