Why Are They Still Here?
By Helen Dickson
That’s the question I ask myself every time I’m at the SPA and wonder why our older cats have not been adopted. Is it because they are black or that they are no longer cute adorable kittens (who incidentally need to be entertained for hours on end)? What they offer are proven personalities—low maintenance, non-demanding, still playful, no surprises. Most important of all: They need you!
Take Balki, a sleek short-haired boy who loves nothing more than letting you know when he wants attention and a lap to sit on. There’s Aussie, who is the last of his siblings and still waiting for a furrever home. Cool Carlotta, a striking tabby girl, craves attention up to a point and then lets you know in no uncertain terms when she has had enough. Kiki, a short-haired tabby, has recently become very affectionate and is most happy when she is on a lap.
So, if you have been thinking about adopting, please consider Balki, Aussie, Carlotta, Kiki or any of our older cats. They deserve a home. Please come to meet them at the SPA, Los Pinos 7, 152 6124, Monday–Saturday, 11am–2pm.
