Paintings and Ceramic Sculptures
By Rubén Morales and Sher Davidson
Sun, Apr 2, 2‒4:30pm
Bordello Gallery, Casa de la Noche
The paintings by Morales inspired the sculptures created by Sher. She calls her collection “Mi Pueblo Mexicano” because, like Morales’ paintings, it features the everyday working people of Mexico. Both artists have enjoyed a supportive following at their openings, and we hope people will come and enjoy the show at the final reception.
Rubén Morales, a Morelia artist, has been a longtime special feature at the Bordello Gallery. His paintings have drawn an enthusiastic following. This is Sher Davidson’s first show in San Miguel. Her artistic career has spanned four decades of jewelry designing, painting, and sculpture. She has taught in Portland, Oregon and owned a custom jewelry business. Sher is also a writer, author of the novel Under the Salvadoran Sun, a travel memoir titled Europe with Two Kids and a Van. Residing half the year in San Miguel since 2011, Sher spends summers on the Oregon coast near her family in Portland.
Both artists are enthused about this collaboration of paintings and sculptures and look forward to your attendance on Sunday, April 2, at the Bordello Galería from 2‒4:30pm Light refreshments will be served.
