The well-known Puerto Vallarta entertainer will narrate the life story and sing the remarkable music of these two classic female vocalists. Mikki will perform Forever Patsy Cline on Thursday and Friday and Little Miss Dynamite (Brenda Lee) on Saturday and Sunday.
Performing to professionally recorded tracks, the musical interpreter will take you through rock-and-roll, pop, blues, and country music of the 1950s and 60s, as performed by Patsy Cline and Brenda Lee.
A country music pioneer, Patsy Cline successfully segued into pop crossover songs. Her hits began in 1957 with “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “I Fall to Pieces,” and “Crazy” and ended in 1963 with “Sweet Dreams,” released after her death. She died at the age of 30 in a private plane crash. Her life became the subject of the 1985 film, Sweet Dreams, starring Jessica Lange.
Standing just 4 feet 9 inches tall, Brenda Lee was the #1 solo female vocalist of the 1960s. She is best known for her hits “I’m Sorry,” “All Alone Am I,” “Sweet Nothin’s,” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”—recorded when she was 13 years old. She had so many consecutive hits that her record wasn’t broken until 1986 by Madonna. She’s ranked #4 in the world of Rock & Roll behind Elvis, The Beatles, and Ray Charles.
Forever Patsy Cline plays at 7:30pm on Thursday and Friday, February 9 and 10. Little Miss Dynamite is on at 7:30pm Saturday, February 11, and at 3pm on Sunday, February 12. Tickets are 250 pesos per show or both shows can be purchased together for 450 pesos.
