Tue, Feb 14, 8pm
Nena Boutique Hotel Skybar
Nemesio Diezmo, Centro
Tickets USD$25 or 500 pesos
According to Lady Zen, “I chose Nena for its romantic view of the city and because they offer boutique performances for those who really want something unique and special. This show has an intimate setting with limited capacity, unlike other venues which are either too large or overcrowded at this time of year. Because the scene is radiant with beautiful sights, perfectly crafted cocktails, and wild elegance, the setting makes anyone feel like they are walking in a dream of sophistication. Nena is the kind of place you can dress up for, and nothing is too bold. After all, when it comes to love, nothing is too over the top.
“Sade has been one of my greatest influences, musically. The depth of her songwriting and romantic lyrics exemplify the complexity and beauty in our expressions of love and relation to one another. In my opinion, there is no other, single artist who has been able to balance these complexities so effortlessly. Whether in or out of love, I can still relate to her. Songs like “No Ordinary Love,” “Your Love Is King,” and “Nothing Can Come Between Us,” or “Hang on to Your Love,” are reminders of why we love and how we love. Valentine’s Day is dedicated to the celebration of love on a global scale. Thought of as a day for lovers, I am reminded that not everyone has someone special in their lives. I often ask—why not take yourself out for Valentine’s Day? Invite a friend to join—doing something beautiful for the self is no less important than for a couple. That’s what this show always means to me. A time to celebrate what love means to the individual. It’s not just about greeting cards, heart-shaped candies, and balloons that declare love, it is the individual heart that loves what it loves.”
The show opens at 8pm offering a cocktail menu and light fare. DJ Cupid will set the mood for dancing and conversation, sparkling wine, and roses. Lady Zen will be joined by a four-piece band, and the night will continue to unfold until about 1am.Tickets are USD$25 or 500 pesos. What better night to celebrate?
