Join Lorena Ochoa and President Fox in a Golf Tournament to Benefit Disabled Children in San Miguel

Local golfers are invited February 24 to join Lorena Ochoa who was the number one golfer in the world for 157 consecutive weeks and also has a champion’s heart for philanthropic efforts helping youth. During the Cup of Golf Ambassadors’ Tournament, she will team up with former President of Mexico Lic. Vicente Fox and his wife Martha Sahagún de Fox at San Miguel’s Ventanas Golf Club to help raise funds for CRISMA (Centro Rehabilitacion Integral San Miguel Allende), a charity which serves disabled children in the San Miguel area under the umbrella of the Foxes’ Vamos Mexico Foundation.

This is the second annual CRISMA golf tournament in San Miguel, expecting 120 golf aficionados from local courses as well as from across Mexico and abroad. Golfers will compete for a Porsche 718 Cayman for the first hole-in-one prize. Other hole-in-one prizes include a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a VW Ultimate Passat.

Participants will enjoy a welcome cocktail accompanied by Ochoa, the Foxes, and other sports personalities. The Copa Golf Ambassadors by Infogolf America offers a Foursome Scramble (to Gogo) format and a minimum handicap of 60 per team. The cost of the ticket is 6,000 pesos per person and includes cocktail, food, a welcome package, and an opportunity to win more prizes in the raffle.

The financial income of the tournament will be allocated to CRISMA for rehabilitation therapies to children and people with physical, neurological, or mixed disabilities. “For the very least of those who can’t do for themselves, we are happy to do this for them,” said Ex-President Vicente Fox, referring to the on-going development of CRISMA.

“Hope is one of the most important motors of life that a human being can have today, while facing so many gray clouds … we shall find the light of hope and give others hope,” Martha Sahagún de Fox said. “The goal of CRISMA goes beyond therapy. The organization also is intent on raising the level of understanding and tolerance toward disabled children on the part of the community at large so that those children and their families can lead improved and happier lives.”
