Nothing Will Stop the Magic Town Music Festival
By Jesús Aguado
The fourth Magic Town Music Festival will have a new venue. This year, it will last just one day, and it will continue with its goal to help Casa de los Ángeles, the Daycare Center for single mothers.
Carrie Cameron, the director of the music festival with the most diverse rhythms in San Miguel, revealed a list of the confirmed bands for the festival—and it will be bigger than before. The VIP Kickoff Party will be celebrated on March 9 at Casa La Niña, and the festival will continue with a day full of music on March 11, with at least two dozen national and international bands at Santa María del Obraje. In past years, it has snowed and rained during the event. Regardless of the weather, the festival continues. “Nothing can stop us!” Cameron promised.
Although the list of bands that will perform at the festival is not yet complete, Cameron gave a partial list to Atención: María María, Ciudad de México; Pilaseca, San Miguel de Allende; Yerbabuena, Querétaro; The Maylee Thomas Band, Dallas; John Christopher Davis, Nashville; Timka, Colombia; and Dave Sebree, Austin.
The three previous years, there were two or three days of music; however, this year the festival will be held on just one day. The ticket pricing will also be different—500 pesos in advance and 700 pesos at the box office. The festival venue at Santa María del Obraje is described in one word by Cameron: “magnificent!” For more information about the festival, go to magictownmusic.org or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
