Oaxaca in San Miguel

By Lupita Meza

Oaxaca is the birthplace of La Guelaguetza, an annual indigenous cultural event. This month, December 11–26, the “Oaxaca” exhibition will demonstrate Oaxaca’s ample creativity with an exceptional and vibrant commercial exhibition of its cultural heritage in the historic center of San Miguel de Allende. The exhibition can be viewed at Casa de Europa, located in front of the San Francisco church, on calle San Francisco, from 10am to 8pm daily.

You can visit and also buy at this exhibition. It will be a unique opportunity to personally get to know traditional cooks who will offer diverse surprises from their indigenous kitchens such as el mole, chocolate, café, and mezcal, as well as displaying unique pieces of ceramic, basketry, leather, wood, and other materials.

Attendees will learn about the magnificent historical legacy of Oaxaca.
