Thank you, volunteers!
Smile You are in San Miguel

Last Thursday, December 1, a special event was held at La Biblioteca to thank and recognize all those who volunteer for this institution. Given its structure, the areas where people can volunteer at La Biblioteca are extensive, and we came across generous professionals who donate their time, investing in creating a better community, whether as teachers of art, music, or English; as librarians, assistants on the tours, and those producing events, consultants, proofreaders, and more. Currently, there are 132 volunteers.
Attendees gathered at the Santa Ana theater, where members of the board and administration staff gave a rundown of the work of La Biblioteca, how it is structured, and what benefits it brings to the community. Then they presented upcoming plans for growth and expansion.
Among the most outstanding achievements are student scholarships, ranging from basic to high school and university. In addition, La Biblioteca offers a safe space for studying, classes, and free access to educational material for students.
La Biblioteca is a self-sustaining civic organization that generates income from its social enterprises: Café Santa Ana, House and Garden Tours, La Tienda (shop), Bodega de Sorpresas (thrift shop), memberships, and the newspaper Atención San Miguel.
Each time you use one of these services, you are helping to keep the educational programs of the institution alive. In addition, La Biblioteca is a source of work in the city, providing employment to 36 sanmiguelenses.
