Targeting One Million Meals in 2017
By Donna Fullerton
Did you know that Feed the Hungry San Miguel provides roughly 900,000 nutritious school meals every year? Every school day, more than 4,000 children in 29 economically disadvantaged communities receive a hot lunch at school-kitchens supported by Feed the Hungry. The meals program, which also includes ongoing nutrition education for the families, relies on private donations, fundraising events, community participation, dedicated volunteers, and a very small staff.

We aim to reach the one million meals mark in 2017! Here are some ways you can get in the spirit and help us achieve this amazing milestone:
Attend “A Nostalgic Christmas Songbook,” a special performance of classic holiday songs by Judy Marzulli and Jorge Peréz. This benefit for Feed the Hungry will be on one night only, Thursday, December 22, 7pm, at the San Miguel Playhouse, Independencia 82. Tickets are 200 pesos and all are reserved seats. Beginning on December 13, tickets can be purchased at Galería Ensueños, Mesones 57, 10:30am–2:30pm daily (except Tuesdays) and at the theater on performance night.
Rally your friends and family to sponsor a school-kitchen as Founding Donors or Kitchen Angels. It’s a great way to do something meaningful together during the holidays or to start the New Year.
Make a donation anytime—every dollar and peso goes a long way. With just US$20 we can provide a child with a hot, balanced meal every school day for a month.
Volunteer for Feed the Hungry as warehouse workers, delivery drivers, event organizers, writers, photographers, fundraisers.
