Want to get in the Christmas spirit? Start the holiday season helping Casa de los Ángeles. What better way than to spend a December afternoon in a beautiful setting, enjoying refreshments, and listening to wonderful music—and at the same time benefiting a worthy local charity. On Wednesday, December 14, Casa de la Cuesta will open its doors for the benefit of Casa de los Ángeles. From this glorious venue above the center of San Miguel, you can see spectacular views, visit the world class mask museum, The Other Face of Mexico, at your leisure, and simply enjoy the warmth of good company and delicious goodies prepared by owner Heidi LaVasseur and her very capable staff. You will be helping local nonprofit Casa de los Ángeles continue supporting single mothers and their families with daycare and other needed support services. All of this for a donation of 150 pesos.

Back by popular demand is the local troubadour group, Tuna Tradicional. In years past they had the crowd clapping and dancing with their unique renditions of popular Mexican music and familiar Christmas songs. This wonderful local group has performed at numerous events to benefit Casa de los Ángeles and other nonprofits. Always a crowd pleaser, the group is comprised of seven friends who have played together for years. Their enthusiasm and joy in making music is infectious. In addition to having a wonderful blend of voices, each member is an accomplished musician, and all of this comes together for a fun and entertaining musical experience. If this group can’t get you in the holiday spirit, nobody can!
Here’s what you need to know to bring your out-of-town company or gather up a group of friends and come enjoy a delightful afternoon of warmth and music. Casa de los Ángeles is a free daycare center, which has grown to be a community center in which mothers find the support they need to make a better life for their families. Casa de los Ángeles serves 100 children from infants to four years of age, ensuring food is in their bellies, their minds are challenged, bodies are healthy, and there is a smile on every face.
