Smile, You Are in San Miguel

By Jade Arroyo

A couple of weeks ago the official presentation of a new transport project in the city was carried out. Wigo is a mobile application that offers trips by car with a private driver, an updated alternative to a taxi.

How does it work? In a totally virtual format, you first download the app onto your mobile phone, then select your location, your destination, and the type of car/service you want (blue, plain, orange, medium, black, luxury; SUV, van). You’ll be informed with the name of the driver and the cost and when your ride will arrive. Payment method can be either cash or charge. The minimum rate starts at 40 pesos.

Wigo is a company totally developed by Mexican talent. The launch was managed by the general director, Gustavo Ascencio Origel, who has more than 18 years of experience in transportation.

The launch cocktail was held at the exclusive Cuna Quince rooftop bar, which is located a stone’s throw from the Parroquia, with a privileged view of the center of the city and first class service and cocktails. Outside was a red carpet, on which the guests entered. To learn more, visit www.wigomexico.com.
