In this talk, the anthropologist Alberto Aveleyra will present some of the results of the research done in 2014 in the personal archives of Cossío del Pomar, the founder of Bellas Artes and the Instituto Allende.

The archives are in San Miguel de Piura, Perú, the birthplace of the Peruvian painter and art historian. A first revision of them was made by Aveleyra in 2014, when he found important information for the history of San Miguel de Allende, Peru, and Latin America.

The lecture is a first approach to the life and works of Cossío del Pomar in a slideshow presentation of some documents from his personal archive. Regarding the rescue project, Aveleyra is going to present the actions taken in the last two years and the actions for 2017. Your attendance at the conference will help to raise funds for the digitalization of the archives to be done in Piura, Perú, in February 2017.
