Vicente Fox to Speak in San Miguel: “Mexico and the US Going Forward”

Vicente Fox

By Susan Page

Former President of Mexico Vicente Fox will speak in San Miguel on Friday, November 18, at 5pm at the Hotel Real de Minas. The talk is deliberately timed to follow the US Presidential election, so that Mr Fox will be able to comment on the results of that election. The event will be presented in English and simultaneously translated into Spanish.

Vicente Fox has agreed to answer questions from the audience. We have an unusual opportunity here in San Miguel to meet with him in a relatively intimate and personal setting. Tickets for the address are USD$25 or 500 pesos if purchased ahead of time, USD$30 or 600 pesos at the door.

Following the address, the public is invited to a lavish reception for the Foxes at the Rosewood Hotel. The reception is a benefit for the Fox Center, A.C., which assists many nonprofits, including Centro de Crecimiento, a therapeutic service for low-income families here in San Miguel. Tickets for the reception are USD$50 or 1,000 pesos if purchased ahead of time, or USD$65 or 1,300 pesos at the door.

To Purchase Tickets

Tickets for both the address at the Real de Minas and the reception at the Rosewood Hotel may be purchased in three ways. They are available on line at Or, they may be purchased in person at the tienda at the Biblioteca 10am to 7pm daily, or at the Literary Sala monthly author reading at the Aldea Hotel on November 10, from 4:30 to 7pm

The Fox lecture and reception are sponsored by i3—Ideas that Inform and Inspire: Conversations with Big Thinkers, a new organization in San Miguel with the purpose of bringing distinguished world leaders in a variety of disciplines to San Miguel throughout each year for in-person presentations and conversations. i-3 operates under the nonprofit umbrella of the San Miguel Literary Sala, and many of the Literary Sala and Writers’ Conference volunteers will be involved with producing the programs.
