Dear Editor

Dear Editor,

We have lived here for about 12 years and enjoyed San Miguel and consider it our home. We have never had any problems with security.  On Sunday, October 30, at about 8:30 at night the doorbell started to ring, and we could see though the camera that there where at least four adults outside. We do not open the door to strangers and did not this time, but they persisted on ringing the bell. After about 15 minutes we became alarmed and called 911. This is this first time in my long life I have ever called 911 and really didn’t know what to expect. I explained the situation to the person that spoke English, told them we were very concerned and could they send someone to make these guys leave.

They responded in 10 to 15 minutes with what looked like a SWAT team. Unfortunately or fortunately, the men had left, so I don’t know if there were any arrests or what the whole thing was actually about, but I felt I really needed to share with the community what a wonderful job the police did in responding to us. The lead officer was polite, concerned, and spoke to me in English which helped to calm my fears. They also assured us they would patrol the neighbor for the rest of the evening.

Thank you 911 responders, you did an excellent job!
