Slideluck art is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building and strengthening the community through food and art. Since 2000, it has put together multimedia events that combine a presentation with a potluck dinner in more than 85 cities and communities.
This initiative is carried out in cities around the world. It first came to SMA on Friday, August 19, at the Casa de Europa. The speakers were beginners to established professionals who shared in a community meeting format with slide shows and music.
Participating photographers, who presented slides of their work with a soundtrack, were: Chris Verene, Mia Berg, Francisco Provedo, Christian Claveria, Octavio Hoyos, Sergio Dominguez, Nathan Goldenzwig, Janet Jarman, Juan Carlos Sedano, Limay-Co Nilson, Norma Suárez, Sami St. Clair, Michael Amici, Angel Miquel, Marisa Kohen, Flor Acosta, Jesús Alexandre, Nicole Franco, Daniela Edburg, and Spencer Tunick. The first meeting of San Miguel de Allende Slideluck was a big success, a forum for exhibiting artists and the exchange of ideas and feedback between them and the public and friends.
