I drive on the Caracol a lot, and there are so many trucks, a few buses/cars that emit horrible black smoke—it’s not only in Centro. I feel so bad for bikers, walkers, etc., breathing all this soot into their lungs. Something can be done!

First, make buses/trucks go for emission checks. And second, if the government would build a huge parking lot out of town and have small, clean buses and cabs there, they could drop people off in the Centro. Also, why is the trolley still clogging up the streets in town? Years ago, on tour in Tuscany, the bus dropped us off on the outskirts, and we all moaned, but no buses or cars were allowed in the center [of town]. What a wonderful experience—small, clean vehicles, and FREE, so they dropped us and we walked into the center and back to the site where we got the transportation. I hope this does not continue as it is now. It’s all so dangerous, unhealthy, and unpleasant especially for our World Heritage site.
