The Work of Terry Rose

Terry uses a unique method of coating surfaces with wet varnish and then dripping oil, ink, micron pigments, and enamel over them. This creates beautiful, spontaneous designs that seem to have been frozen in time during a fluid, gentle dance across the canvas. As Nick Capasso, Director of the Fitchburg Museum in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, so eloquently expressed, “Rose’s paintings, which point simultaneously to phenomena of the minuscule and the vast, are a visual poetics of this truth¾nothing is as a moment ago. They show us the primary condition of physics, life, and the human experience and reassure us that it is right and beautiful.”
For his debut at Casa Diana, he will be presenting recent paintings on canvas as well as a collection of his traditional micron pigments on aluminum panels and smaller format monotypes on paper.
