Lunática will be presenting its newest collection, Origin, which is inspired by both the simplicity and elegance of primal forms.
This collection in inspired by geometry, purism, and mysticism. Designs are informed by astronomy, astrology, alchemy, architecture, botany, and poetry. The project stems from the need to balance among these cultural expressions. Lunática makes a constant reference to the moon as a creative force, drinking from the elegance and mystery of the lunar satellite.
All pieces are hand made, featuring unique pieces that can’t be reproduced due to their particular crafting. Design and art are two disciplines that are bonded. Their relationship is intrinsic. Jewelry by itself is small-format sculpture. For this designer, jewelry is not a functional thing. It’s really a choice. It’s superfluous, but in a beautiful and romantic way, expressing the idea, “I’m going to wear this because of the way it makes me feel.” It is empowering and self-expressive.
Jewelry was not the original path of the designer. Jade Muriel’s training is in the field of literature. However, literature and poetry are disciplines that constantly inform and nurture the design process. She studied jewelry at the workshop of the Perez brothers, where she learned the old-school craft.
The collection is committed to sustainability and local production. The creation process takes place entirely in San Miguel de Allende, from design to samples and production. Desiring to keep traditional techniques as much as possible, combined with new developments, the designer uses noble metals like silver and gold and natural stones and minerals.
The showing of Lunática will be displayed at Galería Calderoni on a permanent basis. To know more about the brand and the designer, visit the website www.facebook.com/lunatica.jewelry.
