Music, a Birthday, and a Carnival at La Galería

Smile, You Are in San Miguel

By Jade Arroyo

La Galería has been a social meeting point for locals since its opening in 2012. Music lovers frequent it to listen to Johnny Favourite or jazz singers or out-of-town talent, watch stand-up shows, or have fun being the entertainment on karaoke night.

This restaurant has a vintage-style bar, like those of music halls of the ’40s. It offers an extensive cocktail and wine bar and international cuisine.

This restaurant is also a casual, relaxed place to go with friends and family to enjoy the music and a drink. It is famous for snacks like the popular spicy chicken wings. Sanmiguelenses seem to be somewhat addicted to them, especially when they are served in combination with a sports event on the big screen.

Atención visited La Galería one night to celebrate the birthday of Luis Esparza, the manager. There was an explosion of music, dance, and fun in a New Orleans Creole style. Friends kept coming and enjoying everything offered by this restaurant. La Galería is a must if you want to venture a little bit away from el Centro and try a new place.
