Smile, You Are in San Miguel
By Jade Arroyo
Two years since this project began, Juan Carlos Sedano shares the results of his first artistic work with a unique collection of visual art.
“Most likely my fascination with photography is the result of the sum of my inclinations over 21 years and my curiosity,” says the artist. This first series of photographs is titled “Naked Reflections” and consists of nude portraits, in which the photographer seeks to reflect the identity of the subjects without artifice, showing what makes them happy and humanizing them. The tension between the truth of the body (skin, muscles, tattoos, or hair portrayed under an expressive light) and suggested by the stage effects (symbols scattered on the photographs), reveals all the ambiguity of human beings and the complexity of the speech of the author. With great respect, Juan Carlos gives us a delicate look at his subjects, composing a generous and very contemplative work force.
Many of the models were friends and people from the artistic and cultural community of San Miguel de Allende.
The opening of the expo was held in the gallery Imagine Studio Gallery, Las Moras 34, Guadiana. You can see the expo by appointment at 415 153 33 58
