With Victor Monterrubio on drums and percussion and Rubén Olvera on several different kinds of bass instruments, Robinson’s group will present a program of original compositions that echo the sensual approach of guitarist Pat Metheny. As to be expected when you bring together three high-level players, there will be some fireworks as well, but the emphasis of these small concerts will be to showcase Robinson’s sophisticated melodies and the group’s interactive communication.
There will be several pieces making their world premieres, including the inspiring “Fanfare for the Uncommon Man” and “Namsabnek,” which is dedicated to the late guitarist Ken Basman, a longtime friend to everyone in the trio.
Seating for the shows is very limited, so make your reservations now. And if you want to try some of Mon Bistro’s French Canadian cuisine before or after your show, you’ll receive a five percent discount off your party’s food bill (alcohol not included in discount).
