New Exhibit at Casa Diana
By Carmen Gutiérrez
On Friday, July 22, from 6 to 9pm, Galería Casa Diana will host a cocktail party to inaugurate Angel Pahuamba’s exhibit, “Super Heroes and Masked Wrestlers.” The collection consists of a series of acrylic and mixed media paintings in various formats. “Super Heroes and Masked Wrestlers” portrays fun representations of fictitious characters from the artist’s childhood, modified by his perception and imagination. The masked wrestlers are characters from the Lucha Libre, a popular sport in Mexico characterized by colorful folklore and the culture that surrounds it. Whether it is with the “mutant ant” or the “green devil vs. caveman,” Pahuamba’s cheerful paintings are sure to take us down memory lane to watch our imaginary friends and childhood super heroes come to life.
