Sabores San Miguel is a food festival that gathers the culinary community of San Miguel de Allende, promoting the gastronomic local scene, including restaurants and producers of bread, cheese, wine, beer, mescal, and organic produce.

The festival includes demonstrations, workshops, tastings, music, and kid’s activities. There will be live music, including Atomic to close the festival, and DJs like Symmetry, BeGolden, MCMeow, Audiochef, and Sekfrommars will also play during the weekend.

The festival officially kicks off on Friday, June 17, with the inauguration of the event at the park from 6 to 10pm. On Saturday June 18, from 12 to 8pm, the restaurants style, will offer samples of “Gourmet Food” to showcase their restaurant. On Sunday, June 19, the theme will be “Street Foods of the World” re-creating outdoor food markets as a tribute to worldwide street food. On Sunday you can also enjoy the annual Desfile de Los Locos and celebrate Father’s Day.

Guest chef will be Paul Anders from Sweet Basil and Mountain Standard in Vail, California. Vail and San Miguel de Allende became “Sister Cities” in July 2015, with the goal of promoting a cultural, artistic, and culinary exchange. Another of our guest chefs is Paul Bentley from Magno Brasserie in Guadalajara. The sous chef and person in charge of “creatvity and development” at Pujol, Coco Becker, will be also present.

On Thursday, June 16, we will have a very special dinner held at The Restaurant with guest chefs Paul Anders and Paul Bentley, and our local talented chefs Carlos Zamora (Moxi, Matilda), Donnie Masterton (The Restaurant), Marco Cruz (Bui), Matteo Salas (Áperi), and Víctor Palma (Rosewood). Proceeds will benefit Feed The Hungry San Miguel. The event inclues a cocktail hour plus a seven course tasting menú and drinks. Tickets will be for sale at The Restaurant (Sollano 16), Birdie’s Burgers & Taco Lab (Reloj 18), El Vergel Market, and online (2,200 pesos/130USD, limited seating).

Some of the participants showcasing their food are Ambrosia, Bhaji, Buenos Aires Bistro, Bui, Carne Vino, Casa de Aves, Casa Sierra Nevada, Cent’anni, Cervecería Dos Aves, La Parada, Mente Cacao, Moxi, Rosewood, Salón Oaxaca, San Miguel Gourmet, Spirulinaviva, and The Restaurant.
