Smile, You Are in San Miguel

A couple of weeks ago, a new gallery opened in the city, dedicated exclusively to art photography. This space is located in the center of art and design Fabrica La Aurora, annexed to the design office Zonagráfica.

The initiative is a collaborative effort of the Herrera brothers. Jesus is a photographer, illustrator, graphic designer, Zonagrafica cofounder, and partner in the area of ​​photography for the International Film Festival of Guanajuato (GIFF). As a photographer, in 2012 he participated in the Hasselblad SMA Project, an exhibition at the Kunsthaus Gallery. He has had solo exhibitions in the cities of León, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, and Mexico City. Brother Ernesto is artistic director and founding president of the Expression en Corto. His background is in scenography and art installation.

Zonagráfica is an advertising and design office, growing and diversifying as it opens the doors to a new space. Zonagráfica Gallery promote photography in all of its facets and disciplines. The inaugural expo took place on Saturday, May 7, during the Fabrica La Aurora Art Walk, showing Ernesto’s and Jesus’ extensive experience in the graphic arts, with samples of black and white landscape, portrait and photo-illustration.

The expo will continue through July 7, 2016. Hours are 11am-6pm.

Zonagráfica Gallery is located in House 3, behind the duck pond.
