We propose for you a day in San Miguel visiting places who give honour to art and good eating and drinking. Relaxed places where you can express you most artistic side and have fun in an artsy way.

Instituto Allende, Escuela de Artes Visuales y Español, Ancha de San Antonio 22

This iconic school it’s one of the first in the city. Besides offering the degree in Visual Arts, here you can take classes and workshops in several art disciplines like: painting, drawing, jewellery, loom and sculpture.

Fábrica La Aurora, Centro de Diseño, Calzada de la Aurora s/n  lun-sáb 10am-6pm

Former textile factory that today houses a vibrant design and art centre. Galleries, ateliers, jewellery, antiques and interior design shops. Open mon-sat 10am-6pm.

Café Muro, Loreto 10B,

Cafe, restaurant and art gallery. Here the breakfast it’s available all day, ideal for the heavy sleepers, or just if you feel like having hot-cakes and bacon for lunch. The place has a contemporary feel and nice atmosphere, all the time there’s an art exhibit going on featuring local artist. Food id mainly artisanal Mexican, but international dishes are also served as well some tasty vegetarian. Coffee it’s excellent, and there are some treats like alfajores to satisfy your sweet whim.

Movie Pocket Theatre, Henández Macias 95

Charming little theatre located right at the heart of towm; daily screenings of classic films, art and contemporary films. To check the weekly programming, just walk by the window. Make sure to buy tickets n advance, seating is limited.
