The Lifeskill Center is a project that has been in development for the past four years and has recently gained legal status as an Asociación Civil (nonprofit).
The goal of the Lifeskill Center is to teach children and adults, primarily in the more disadvantaged areas of greater San Miguel de Allende, that they have value, that they can dream, and that they can achieve their dreams through education and the setting of short- and long-term goals. The Lifeskill Center focuses on teaching people how to think outside the box and embrace other ideas and cultures without being intimidated by the cultural differences.
The Lifeskill Center is headquartered at the Roza Kent Community Center in the Pancho Villa neighborhood of San Miguel. They work with a group of 15 to 20 children, teenagers, and adults and facilitate and encourage creative thinking, values, and coping skills through programming such as English, music, art therapy, and sports. Their ultimate goal is to develop a fuller and more robust curriculum and introduce a multicultural ambiance where people from different cultural, economic, and professional backgrounds can come together in harmony and learn from each other.
The Lifeskill Center is currently looking for volunteers and benefactors to help ease the workload of educational and administrative tasks. For information call 415 153 2080 or email email@example.com.
