Spring Equinox 2016
By Jade Arroyo
Annually, the Charco del Ingenio celebrates the spring equinox with an incredible acoustic concert au plein air, known to all as “the concert on the rocks.”
This year the featured band is Orchestra Pasatono, which will perform with the natural rock canyon as a backdrop. This orchestra comes from Oaxaca. Formed of nine musicians who combine strings, brass, and percussion, this group is recognized inside and out of the Mexico for its flawless performances that mix the sounds of Oaxaca, Mexico, and the world.
In addition to the equinox, the activities will inaugurate the celebration of the 25th anniversary of this ecological and cultural site. Besides being a sanctuary for native and a variety of endangered species, it is known as an important space for indigenous expression and local culture. Do not miss this incredible musical experience in the mist of the glories of Mother Earth.
