Come to Parque Guadiana to Celebrate

By Donna Phillips

Amigos del Parque Guadiana will hold its Third Annual Spring Fiesta in Parque Guadiana to enjoy the restored upper level of the park, including the new Pollinator Garden, and to raise funds to continue work on the lower level.

Third Annual
Spring Fiesta

del Parque Guadiana
Featuring Great Food and Live Music
Sat, Mar 19, 3–6pm
No admission charge
Food and drink tickets
will be sold at the event

Turn into colonia Guadiana in front of the Hotel Real de Minas. The park is right there, between Potranca and Guadiana, just off the Ancha/Salida de Celaya. There will be entertainment: Back by popular demand, Green River, a great band! Good music makes for great dancing. There will be food: Juliana’s hamburgers will be with us again. Hers is the chargrilled hamburger restaurant as you enter Colonia Guadiana at the bottom of Potranca.

And making its debut with us: ChupAlitas, winner of the recent Chili Cook-Off in San Miguel. The restaurant is owned and run by Joe and Debbie Ingram. ChupAlitas will be offering wings and chili dogs.

Help us with your own talent: Bring a homemade finger food dessert that we can serve on a napkin, such as brownies, cookies, churros, or cupcakes. Amigos del Parque Guadiana will charge $20 pesos per serving for your dessert. All the proceeds will go to our Restoration Fund.

Tell your friends and neighbors about this. They may want to donate too. Deliver your dessert to Maria Williams or Donna Phillips in the park on Saturday, March 19, between 2 and 2:30pm.

Our financial target to complete the lower level is US$50,000, about the same amount it took to restore the upper level. You can help us raise money! Please join us for a pleasant afternoon with friends and neighbors, great food, and entertainment.
