This is the first time a beautiful collection of artwork by many well-known artists is being shown at Casa Europa for a charitable purpose. Our primary mission is to promote Mexican and European art and culture, serving as an amiable liaison between the local art community and the economic business of San Miguel.
During the two-week art exhibit beginning March 16, we offer stimulating cultural events:
A poetry reading session (Ode to Painting!) of poems by Rafael Alberti. Carolyn Tilton, who translated it, won the National Translation Award.
Café Terrace Chat “à la Parisien.”
Just before the school break for the Semana Santa/Easter holiday, this exhibit will open its doors to school children to tour all three exhibition halls:
•Exhibit Hall A: “Through the Children’s Eyes”: Original works by the Children’s Art Foundation are on display and available for sale, priced from 100 pesos. Selected children’s works are published annually in Creative Children of San Miguel, available for sale.
•Exhibit Hall B: major work by established artists of San Miguel, whose participation shows their firm support of the children’s art program.
•Exhibit Hall C: open Café Terrace with works of the “masters” on display. There is also a stage for poetry reading sessions hosted by Maia Williams in her active role with Literary Sala.
Events for poetry lovers, art critics, art collectors, and artists:
•Meeting Artists/Poetry reading Cocktail: Sunday, March 20, 2–4pm
•“Starry Night” Cocktails: Friday, March 25, 5–7pm
