Do Women Owe Hillary Their Vote?

Hilary Clinton

By David Johanssen

Last year, Hillary Clinton looked like the inevitable Democrat candidate for president.  But now, young female voters are flocking to Bernie Sanders. Why is she losing support and where does feminism fit into this election? Many women of San Miguel want to live to see a woman break that final “glass ceiling” and become the President of the United States in their lifetime, yet it is Sanders who seems to warm the hearts of their daughters. Why? Join us on “Super Tuesday,” March 1, at 5pm for a balanced video and discussion of Hillary’s prospects: Do Women Owe Hillary Their Vote? 50 pesos.

Friday, February 26, at 7pm, join us for an authentic French concert: Chansons Pour Notre Ville.  Help us celebrate La Belle France as Frenchman Pascal Monziea and Almitri Tzigane sing of the world’s favorite culture, presenting such timeless classics as “La Vie en Rose” by Edith Piaf, “La Mer” by Charles Trénet, and “Ne Me Quitte Pas” by Jacques Brel. 150 pesos.

Wendy and the Lost Boys rock the rafters Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5, at 7pm as Wendy Sievert, Wade Ashley, and Tom Driscoll join George McConkey on harmonica and Ron Incontro on bass. The all-acoustic band draws from the many roots of American music, especially folk, blues, pop, country, and rock and roll. Tickets are available at the Biblioteca or at www.sheltervg4.com.
