Thornton Wilder’s Skin of Our Teeth

By Lois Read

On February 16, 17, and 18, San Miguel Playreaders will present a somewhat shortened version of Thornton Wilder’s Skin of Our Teeth. When this three-part epic comedy-drama won the Pulitzer Prize in 1943, TIME Magazine called it “Hellzappopin’ with brains.” Due to time and space constraints, we will not have dinosaurs in our production, though we will invite you to imagine them, as well all the animals filing onto the ark. We will have the eternal family, George and Maggie Antrobus, their two children, and their maid Sabina. They will escape one disaster after another “by the skin of their teeth” and, of course, with the wisdom of the ages to be found in books. Directed by Lois Read, the play will feature Marthe Fraser, Susan Rushton, Sofia Kemmerich, Jacqueline Kellam, Cleo Kamelhar, Ken Albanese, Caden Koontz, Greg Diamant, and Ben Westbrock. Join us at St. Paul’s Church, Cardo 6. Doors open at 7pm. The play starts at 7:30pm or when the house is full. 20 pesos. Change is appreciated.
